well isn't there some law that says you cant put tabs on here because its copyrighted or something?

i heard that the only reason UG is still up is because its based in russia

putting up tabs from music books is illegal, idk about 1's u figured out for ur self

ones you find yourself aren't illegal. It's your own material

UG's run out of the Netherlands; they just operate out of Russia. My guess is legal business and all that.

well, tabs are copyrighted only if someone wants to pay $45 to copyright it. UG has user submitted tabs, and i think it is best to give the submitters credit if you get the tabs from there. tabs from UG arent copyrighted, but they are the submitters material. best to avoid lawsuits over here if we keep giving the author credit. and our own tabs probably would get used over there, but no credit for us, but thats their problem. many of there bass tabs are from bassmasta, but nobody over there complains. i wouldnt consider what we are doing as illegal though.

a note on copywriting

as soon as the work is created its automatically copyrighted but unless uh record it on a tangible format (paper, cd, audio tape, a napkin) and pay to register it, it would b impossible for u to say in court that its yours. its advised to put the copywrite logo © on ur work even if u haven't paid to copywrite it yet becuz it shows ppl u know the basic CW laws and they'll b discouraged frum stealing ur work

well, copyrights normally are bought (planning on doing it on my music stuff), just for a legit document saying its yours. id have to have the papers in front of me to say that it is mine for me to believe it.
